Depth of field
Depth of field is the thickness of the in-focus area of a photo. This is determined by the aperture, of course, but also by the focal length and the focusing distance.
In this workshop, we will start with different exercises to visualize the effect of these parameters on the depth of field, then we will practice controlling the area of sharpness in different circumstances.

The concept being simple to explain but difficult to carry out in practice, we will spend more time in the practical session than in the theoretical session.
Recommended photo equipment
Any digital, compact, SLR or mirrorless camera is suitable for this workshop. In the case of interchangeable lens cameras, any lens will do. A tripod may be useful if it rains on the day of the workshop.

Location and progress of the workshops
The theoretical portion and the viewing of the photos take place in a studio, near the Atwater market in Montreal. The precise location will be communicated to you upon registration. The practical portion of the workshops takes place in various locations in Montreal. Most workshops start at 10 a.m. and end around 5 p.m. However, the exact duration of the workshops depends on the size and level of the group, the subject covered, the length of travel, the number of photos taken, etc. Therefore, the end time of the workshops may vary.
